Engine Coolant Supplier for South Africa

The one African market that genuinely needs both — highveld altitude and inland winter frost, in the same vehicle.

South Africa breaks the African pattern. The highveld around Johannesburg sits at 1,750 m and drops below freezing on winter nights, so a vehicle registered in Gauteng needs real freeze protection and a boil-over margin at the same time. Durban, 600 km away and at sea level, needs neither in the same way.

Which grade for which altitude

One national specification does not work here. Coastal KwaZulu-Natal runs a subtropical profile where corrosion control dominates; the interior runs a continental profile with a genuine frost season. A distributor stocking a single grade is either over-spending on the coast or under-protecting on the highveld.

Documents and clearance

  • SDS in the 16-section GHS format for every formulation
  • Certificate of analysis per batch — freeze point, boil point, pH, reserve alkalinity
  • Certificate of Origin for preferential duty treatment
  • Test data aligned to the standard your buyer specifies — ask before ordering

South African buyers frequently ask for SABS-aligned documentation. We will tell you plainly which test data we hold for a given formulation and which we do not, before you commit to a container — a short answer now is cheaper than a rejected shipment later.

Common questions

Do we actually need antifreeze in South Africa?›

On the highveld, yes. Johannesburg winter nights reach −5 °C, and a 0 °C grade left in an unheated vehicle will not protect the block. On the KwaZulu-Natal coast the freeze question is irrelevant, which is why a single national SKU does not serve the whole country.

−25 °C or −45 °C for the interior?›

−25 °C covers the highveld frost with margin. −45 °C is specified for markets with sustained deep winter, or where a customer insists on it. Buying −45 °C for Gauteng is protection you pay for and never use.

What is the minimum order?›

Drums: 100 units. Retail cartons: 600 × 4 L jugs or 1,200 × 2 L bottles. Mixed containers are accepted across coolant, washer fluid and brake fluid.

Can you supply the test data before we commit?›

Yes. Tell us the formulation and the standard your buyer references, and we send what we hold. If we do not hold it, we say so — that is the point of asking first.
